My name is Ms. Susan and I will be your child's tutor. Because, like they say, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself, I only take on a limited number of students in order to ensure your child gets the individualized attention they need. No worries about speaking with me just to find out someone else will be tutoring your child. My students have been known to text me at 10pm on a day when we don't have sessions because they got stuck on a math problem, and I will ALWAYS respond back to my texts. I pride myself on the rapport I build with every single one of my students.
I have a Master's degree in Math Education K-12, I'm a certified teacher, Dyscalculia Specialist, trained educational clinician, multisensory instruction expert and have completed NILDs Educational Therapy Certification Course as well as Dyscalculia Tutor Training. What is the difference between Educational Therapy and Tutoring?Educational therapy and tutoring differ primarily in their scope and approach. Educational therapy addresses both academic and non-academic challenges, focusing on students with learning differences or disabilities through individualized intervention plans and long-term strategies. In contrast, tutoring provides targeted academic assistance in specific subjects to improve immediate performance and understanding, often aligned with the school curriculum. While educational therapy aims for holistic, long-term development, tutoring focuses on short-term academic goals. Although we do not provide homework assistance or traditional tutoring, we highly recommend Math Wizdom to those searching for those services. You can get in contact with Math Wizdom on their website, www.mathwizdom.com

What is educational therapy?Educational Therapy is a holistic approach to learning that not only focuses on what students are learning but also on how they learn. Unlike traditional tutoring, which primarily addresses specific academic subjects and content, educational therapy delves into the underlying cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes that impact a student's ability to learn. How is executive function coaching different from traditional tutoring?Executive Function Coaching focuses on developing a student's cognitive and organizational skills, which are crucial for effective learning and daily functioning. This type of coaching helps students with planning, time management, organization, goal-setting, and self-regulation. The aim is to equip students with strategies to manage their tasks, improve their focus, and enhance their overall academic performance and life skills. Traditional Tutoring, on the other hand, is primarily focused on helping students understand and master specific academic content.
